At Pocknells, we believe that accountancy should be engaging and accessible. Based in Essex, we are a well-established firm of Chartered Accountants, delivering expert financial services with a personal touch. We’re more than just numbers—we work closely with our clients to help them grow and succeed in their businesses. We're passionate about innovation and making financial management approachable for everyone.
We are now seeking a qualified accountant to join our team. As a Qualified Accountant, you'll play a key role in providing exceptional accounting services to our clients. Due to the entrepreneurial clients that we work with, we often find our work involves forward forecasting and reports and therefore not just a compliant service mindset would be important.
Responsibilities:
* Preparation of statutory accounts and corporation tax returns for a range of clients
* Management of client relationships and communication with clients on accounting and tax matters
* Overseeing and commenting on report packs and management data for clients
* Assisting with tax planning, audits, VAT returns, and other financial matters as required
* Keeping up to date with changes to accounting and tax regulations, and advising clients on any implications
* Helping to develop and train team members
Requirements:
* At least 5 years experience as a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
* Experience in preparing statutory accounts and corporation tax returns for a variety of clients
* Ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner
* A solid understanding of accounting standards and tax legislation
* An entrepreneurial mindset with a self-starting attitude, and the ability to work independently and in a team
* If you've got experience in audit and have previously been an RI or would like to be one in the future, then that would be advantageous.
We're a fun-loving team who love to work hard and play hard. We offer a range of perks including a competitive salary, flexible working arrangements, opportunities for career development (including a route to potential partnership), and a supportive team environment. If you're a qualified accountant with a passion for accounting and business, and you're ready to take the next step in your career, we want to hear from you!
