Loreto College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and passionate Teacher of Business to join our vibrant and successful Business department. Business at Loreto College is a popular subject which delivers high success rates and excellent student progression, with many students going onto fantastic destinations. The department runs a range of extra-curricular activities and trips that make Business an exciting subject to study at Loreto.
As a Teacher of Business at Loreto you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning under the leadership of the Head of Department. You will undertake regular assessment of students’ work and provide timely feedback. You will also monitor and support the progress and development of students using the college’s bespoke in-house systems, as well as building and maintaining positive relationships with students. Additionally, you will contribute to the development and delivery of the subject in line with awarding organisation specifications and through working closely and collaboratively with your colleagues.
Loreto Business students have excellent progression to both Russel group and Sutton 30 university destinations, higher level apprenticeship schemes and employment. The department has a high commitment to offering a rounded experience to students via our extra-curricular activities and we offer a range of trips including residential trips to London and Prague and visits to local businesses. We have a wide range of speakers into college which have included the Banks of England, Co-op, ITV, Unicorn deli and others. We also encourage our students to participate in many business-related competitions and events e.g. enterprise and investor challenges.
About Loreto College
Loreto College has been oversubscribed for many years and this position has become available due to the growth of the college. We are currently awaiting the completion of a new building on our College campus to serve our diverse and dynamic student population which will increase by 600 students between 2024 and 2026.
Loreto Sixth Form College has been awarded a second consecutive outstanding rating in all areas under the latest framework in our December 2022 inspection. Ofsted noted "Students’ behaviour is exemplary’ and that ‘Students who study at Loreto do exceptionally well.’ Ofsted also noted that ‘Leaders place a very high priority on staff mental health and wellbeing including workload. For example, staff can access counselling services, chaplaincy support, and the employee assistance programme’.
