Recruiting for a versatile, Senior Designer from a multi product background. You will be responsible for designing innovative aparel ranges: across womens and some menswear, including outerwear, tailoring to soft separates and accessories.
Based in recently modernised Head Offices to the West of Birmingham, this is a unique opportunity for an experienced designer, with a passion for innovation and garment construction.
Senior Apparel Designer - The Job Outline
* Liaise with Customers / Account Managers to develop multi product collections. Create ideas for complete corporate clothing wardrobes to include womens & menswear, outerwear, to softs to accessories.
* Monitor product performance and use data to direct future developments.
* Undertake trend research, customer, and trend analysis; from catwalk to social media - presenting customer research and buying trends.
* Participate in new target customer/tender presentation meetings.
* Aid in development of the design growth strategy and sales plan in line with the Critical Path.
* Ensure selected fabrics are suitable to the project and/or a corporate clothing standard, on brand, the best quality for the price bracket and consolidated across ranges where possible.
* Work closely with Product Development team in technical handovers, fabric/lap dip approvals and fit meetings.
* Demonstrate a good understanding of price architecture, margins and market pricing. Ensuring costs are closely monitored and projects are delivered within budget parameters of each individual client requirement.
* Create product specification and technical packs and attend garment fit sessions.
* Ability to travel to attend customer meetings, wearer trials, factory visits and fabric sourcing trips.
Senior Apparel Designer - The Person Specification
* The ideal applicant will have a minimum of 5 years commercial apparel design experience and ready to step up to senior level with accountability. Fashion Design Degree or similar.
* Multi apparel design background is preferable ie. tailoring to softs to sports.
* Additional graphic/print skills would be advantageous.
* A good technical understanding of garment design, fabrication and fit.
* Strong CAD, excellent Photoshop, and Illustrator skills.
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Confident presentation ability to present their work, and influence key decision makers.
* Self motivated, with a proactive, 'anything is possible' attitude to work
* Ability to prioritise own work/and manage deadlines
* Meticulous attention to detail.
* Own car and ability to travel to clients' offices for meetings/presentations.
