To be responsible for the delivery of practice nursing services to the practice population, working collaboratively with the rest of the practice team. The practice nurse is responsible for a number of clinical areas such as chronic disease management, vaccination and immunisation and general treatment room duties, as well as certain defined administrative duties. The practice nurse role requires the ability to work both autonomously and within a team, good communication, assessment and risk-management skills in order to provide holistic, individualised care which promotes independence and self-care as much as possible.
