Lancashire Hospitals Services (Pharmacy) Ltd is delighted to offer a vacancy for a Pharmacy Operations Manager. Part of the role will require providing strategic leadership to our fantastic team. Whilst having experience of working in an outpatient pharmacy setting would be advantageous, please do not be discouraged from applying if you haven't. You will need to be enthusiastic, motivated, and demonstrate a desire towards developing our services.
Please note full-time hours are 37.5 hours per week worked over five days. Whilst having a visible leadership presence is an essential part of the role, there may be the opportunity to work from home one day a week. This can be discussed and agreed as part of the interview process.
Please note the interviews for this post are expected to be held the week commencing the 9th of December.
Responsibilities:
1. Providing managerial and strategic leadership for the pharmacy outpatient service.
2. Ensuring that contractual KPIs are met.
3. Ensuring compliance with GPhC Standards for Registered Pharmacies in conjunction with the Superintendent Pharmacist.
4. Ensuring safe and effective working practices with SOPs that are in date and fit for purpose.
5. Developing services to maximise company profitability; working closely with the Finance Manager.
6. Providing leadership and acting as a role model for the staff of LHS Ltd.
7. Managing stock appropriately and accurately.
8. Ensuring robust recruitment processes are in place including induction programmes and probationary reviews.
9. Ensuring training packages are in place to cover all core activities and are used to ensure that all team members are trained to the appropriate standards.
10. Ensuring pharmacy stock is handled appropriately in terms of it being safe and secure.
11. Developing and operating the pharmacy as a profitable business, tailoring staffing and services as appropriate.
12. Managing pharmacy rosters in line with budgeted costs.
13. Ensuring effective leadership and management of the dispensary teams.
14. Conducting regular team meetings with minutes circulated.
15. Communicating effectively with team members regarding sensitive topics.
16. Ensuring compliance with LTHTr mandatory training requirements.
17. Conducting quarterly 121s and annual appraisals for all team members.
18. Managing workload and resources across all three branches.
19. Leading or providing support on service development.
20. Investigating incidents reported by Datix or PALs and developing corrective action plans.
21. Ensuring relevant risk assessments are in place and reviewed regularly.
22. Maintaining the LHS Single Improvement Plan and progressing actions.
23. Preparing corporate and annual business plans with the Finance Manager.
24. Providing strategic advice to the board regarding industry developments.
25. Establishing effective links with key stakeholders.
26. Coordinating the work and resources of the dispensary teams.
27. Representing the company in negotiations with customers and suppliers.
