Are you a passionate 1-1 SEN Teaching Assistant who wants to make a difference in the lives of students with complex needs? Step Teachers are working with a Primary school in Cambridge and are seeking a 1-1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a school that champions high aspirations and also contribute to raising the achievement of students to assistant with an Epileptic student, To start immediately or November 2024.
Key Responsibilities of a 1-1 SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Predominately provide 1:1 lessons to a child with a diagnosis of Autism and Oppositional Defiance Disorder
* The SEN Teaching Assistant should assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons tailored to the individual needs of students.
* Foster a supportive and nurturing learning environment, promoting independence and confidence.
* Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to implement tailored support plans for students with SEN.
* The SEN Teaching Assistant should maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour, contributing to comprehensive assessments and reports.
* 1-1 SEN Teaching Assistant would need to stay 4-5 on Tuesdays( staff training) every week. Every day will be 08.30-15.30.
* 1-1 SEN Teaching Assistant would be working as a TA in the classroom environment, and 'keeping an eye' on this young person to support them in the event of a seizure.
Requirements of a 1-1 SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Must be able to take initiative and plan mini-activities.
* Must be able to think on their feet.
* Key Stage 2 - specifically year 3 experience
* Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably with SEN experience and 1*1.
* A genuine passion for working with children and young people, with a patient and empathetic approach.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
* Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to thrive in different educational settings.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools) are desirable but not essential.
