Job summary The Radiology department is looking for an admin support assistant to join our Interventional Radiology team. We need an individual who is ready for a challenge to join our busy Interventional radiology appointments team in providing an effective booking service for patients ensuring wait time and clinical targets are met. The post holder will be responsible for the day to day booking of patients as well as administrative support for the Interventional radiology team. A high number of appointments are made via in-bound and out-bound telephone calls therefore; the ideal individual will need to have excellent communication skills, to ensure that patients receive a supportive and responsive service tailored to their specific needs. A good all round knowledge of IT is essential, however full training in using the Computerised Radiology Information System (CRIS) will be provided. Additional working pattern details: Working cross-site Main duties of the job Ensure proactive co-ordination of all IR clinics allowing all referrals are booked accordingly. Communicate with a range of clinical/non-clinical staff regarding progress of patient's referral. Receive and act on complex information as directed by the IR Consultants, ensuring patients who have attended clinic receive clinic letters and that cancellations are rebooked to avoid loss of valuable slots. Book appointments, re-book/change when requested following national guidelines and department policies. Establish and maintain effective communication with clinicians across the trust to support the smooth running of the IR clinics. Working knowledge of a range of IR procedures where queries from patients and medical staff arise. Liaise with IR consultants to minimise waiting list times, vetting queries, list utilisation and efficiency, patient on pathways Sighted on inpatient demand and confident to reorganise lists as directed by IR consultants. Document IR consultant annual leave and work alongside the IR consultants ensure disruption to the service is minimised.
