Overview:
Compass Associates is pleased to be collaborating with a leading provider of specialist care for children on a nationwide scale in the UK. They specialise in bespoke schools and nurturing residential homes that meet each child’s social and educational needs.
In order to help the provider’s deliver specialised and evidence-based treatments that are proven to help tackle the issues faced by its service users, we are working in partnership to headhunt for a Junior Occupational Therapist to work between two specialist autism schools (which are 10 minutes apart) for children ages 7 to 17. This includes one brand-new school, which opened in this Autumn Term.
As the Junior OT, you'll become an integral part of a cohesive and experienced multidisciplinary team, which includes a Lead Occupational Therapist, Educational Psychologist (EP), an Assistant Psychologist, Speech & Language Therapists, Music Therapists, and Counsellors. You will be well supported by the Lead OT and individual Head Teachers, while managing your own caseload of students.
Location:
The role covers roughly 2 schools which are 10 minutes apart in the Woking, Northwest Surrey area. Therefore, it is commutable from Basingstoke, Reading, Slough, Twickenham, Epsom, Guildford, and Farnham, as well as the surrounding areas and towns.
Criteria:
- HCPC Registered as an Occupational Therapist
- Experience working with children
Shift Pattern:
The role is ideally full-time, 5 days per week, and involves term-time only working. Applicants seeking part-time work (minimum) 3 days per week, are also welcome.
Interview Process:
3 stages: 1st stage is an informal introductory virtual conversation as an opportunity to learn more about the role. This is followed by the 2nd stage – an informal visit at one of the schools. The final stage is a more formal interview with a panel including a Senior Clinician, Head Teacher and an HR Representative.
Salary and Benefits:
This Junior Occupational Therapist (OT) position is open for Band 5/6 applicants, and pays between £33,000 to £43,000 dependent on experience. It also includes an industry-leading benefit package as follows:
