The Role - Planner Buyer
Are you an experienced Planner Buyer looking for your next opportunity? We are working on behalf of a leading manufacturer in Wolverhampton who is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join their team. As a Planner Buyer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless coordination of materials and production schedules, while managing supplier relationships to meet business objectives.
Duties – Planner Buyer
Develop and manage production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products in line with customer demand and inventory targets
Liaise with suppliers to manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and ensure materials are available to meet production deadlines
Monitor stock levels and manage inventory to optimize production efficiency and minimize waste
Collaborate with the production and engineering teams to forecast material requirements and adjust planning as necessary
Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement
Identify potential supply chain risks and implement contingency plans to avoid disruption
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures
Maintain accurate records of purchases, materials, and suppliers
Background – Planner Buyer
Proven experience in a similar Planner Buyer or Supply Chain role within a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of production planning, materials management, and inventory control
Excellent negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build strong supplier relationships
Proficiency in using ERP/MRP systems for planning and procurement
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
A proactive and collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams
