Job Title: Senior Architectural Technologist

Salary: up to £47,000 DOE

As a Senior Architectural Technologist, you will play a pivotal role in the technical delivery of complex projects, working closely with design teams to ensure that creative visions are brought to life with precision and in accordance with the highest standards. The role requires a strong technical background, excellent project management skills, and a keen interest in architectural innovation.
Your responsibilities will include leading the technical development of projects from concept through to completion, ensuring all designs meet regulatory and industry standards. You will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and other consultants to integrate design intent into technical delivery, ensuring seamless coordination. Additionally, you will provide leadership to junior technologists and technicians, offering mentorship and technical support as needed.
You will oversee the production of detailed construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local building regulations. Regular technical reviews and audits will be conducted to identify risks and opportunities for improvement. Liaising with clients, contractors, and external consultants, you will ensure the smooth coordination of project delivery while resolving any technical challenges that arise. You will also be responsible for conducting site inspections to confirm that construction is carried out in line with approved plans and specifications, providing solutions to on-site issues.
To excel in this role, you should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in Architectural Technology or a related field, with at least five years of experience in a similar position. Experience in large-scale commercial, healthcare, or educational projects will be particularly valuable. Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and other relevant software is essential, as is a strong working knowledge of UK building regulations and standards. Leadership skills are crucial, and you should be comfortable managing and mentoring junior team members while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for effective teamwork and client interaction. The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and maintain high standards of work is essential. Experience in sustainable design and an interest in integrating green technologies into projects would be highly advantageous, and while CIAT membership or working towards Chartered status is preferred, it is not essential.
