THE ROLE OF SPA THERAPIST Performs treatments in Spa Space, Jetty Spa, Guests Spa Lodges and Suites, Shows a good knowledge of all spa treatments and the products used in the spa, both ESPA and Pure Lakes. Provides all spa treatments to the highest standards and adheres to the correct treatment protocols. (In house training and ESPA training are provided.) Carries out a full consultation with guests and is knowledgeable about contra-indications. Hosts spa trails and looks after guests when using spa facilities. Upsells treatments to generate revenue for the spa and recommends retail products to guests to help with their individual needs and enhance their experience. Ensures that any special occasions for guests are recognised. Navigates the spa diary and creates spa reservations, responding to emails in a timely manner, sending guests confirmation emails. Assists the Spa Manager with daily running of the spa and reports to the Spa manager or deputy in absence of Spa Manager. Has excellent time management and has a good knowledge of the Gilpin Hotel and Lake House and its practices. Informs the Spa Manager or deputy of any low stock levels of products and consumables etc. which will impact on treatments. Ensures both spas are kept immaculately clean and well presented. Checking that products and consumables are topped up. Cleans spa facilities to correct standards as per departmental guidelines and ensures all spa laundry is taken to be washed. Clean laundry to be brought to the spa and put away neatly. Ensures that all guest issues are reported to the Spa Manager and on Gilpin Academy as soon as possible. Charges treatments and products through EPOS system and PDQ. Achieves retail targets set by management. Unpacks and stores stock on arrival. Ensures a detailed handover is completed each day. Completes the end of day banking. Informs the Spa manager or deputy of any health and safety risks/ issues and adheres to health & safety standards. Helps out other departments when required and if time allows. Maintains a clean, tidy, organised and safe working environment at all times. Is immaculately presented at all times in clean pressed uniform, with long hair tied back. Attention to personal hygiene is also extremely important. Skills and experience required for the role Previous experience in a similar level of establishment is preferred. Relevant qualifications in treatments that are offered in this particular Spa Face to face experience with guests is essential. Strong teamwork and communication skills to effectively collaborate with other teams in the business, in particular the front of house teams. Flexibility to work weekends and holidays, as per the demands of the business. Exceptional customer service skills and good listening skills Ability to work in a busy environment and under pressure Ability to work under own initiative Excellent organisational skills Strong sense of need for achievement of goals and success High level of motivation, determination and commitment To undertake additional or other duties or work as necessary to meet the needs of the business. Good health and a general level of fitness is required for this role. Can act as a First Aid Aider or Fire Warden in the event of an accident or emergency.
