As part of our commitment to end rough sleeping within the district, we currently have an opportunity to join East Suffolk Council's Housing Needs Team as a Rough Sleeping Outreach Worker. Your role: Rough sleeping attracts a significant level of concern and scrutiny both nationally and locally. The purpose of the role will be to provide assertive outreach work to individuals found to be sleeping rough across East Suffolk. The postholder will be required to investigate such instances guided and supported by the Rough Sleeper Co-Ordinator whilst also liaising with other colleagues in the Housing Needs Service. The postholder would need to build a positive rapport and promote the wellbeing of this cohort of customers by establishing links and making referrals to other agencies to meet their needs. The post will require some unsocial hours. What you will need: The post holder will need to have obtained 2-years’ experience of delivering services with a range of statutory and voluntary organisations in housing or homelessness related context or in other similar settings. The post holder will have previous experience of operating in a lone working environment with minimum supervision and have experience in working with mental health, drug or alcohol related support.
