A new and exciting opportunity has opened up for a Nursery Manager at a wonderful large BRAND NEW nursery in Altrincham. We're seeking an experienced and qualified Nursery Manager to join the management team on a full-time permanent basis, all year round .
The nursery will be opening from January 2025 as Altrincham Day Nursery, and is well supported as part of a local group of nurseries already known and well ran in the area. Initially you will manage the nursery to grow numbers, with the ultimate goal of running a successful 100 place day nursery in the area.
We are looking for a manager to run the setting offering a nurturing environment where every child's potential is recognised and celebrated.
Role and responsibilities:
As the Nursery Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring high standards of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual education and care for all children in the nursery. Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:
* Leading a team of dedicated staff members to provide exceptional care and early learning experiences for children.
* Overseeing day-to-day operations, including quality improvement, marketing, and administration.
* Collaborating with the Management Team to maintain a smoothly running nursery.
* Leading and directing the nursery team, including allocating responsibilities and supporting individual development.
* Monitoring the condition of the nursery and resources and organising maintenance, repairs and new items as required.
* Conducting regular financial reviews to ensure financial stability of the setting, identifying areas of your business where you can cut costs, and exploring new revenue streams.
* Building strong partnerships with parents and carers to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment.
* Collaborating with the local community to be involved in annual events.
* Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Early Years practice, legislation, and the Early Years Foundation Stage, including SEND, OFSTED, and Health and Safety, to ensure the highest standards of care and compliance.
* Playing a vital role in the nursery's marketing and business development activities.
* Ability to work effectively alongside the Management Team and Nursery Directors.
* Monitor staff performance across the entire nursery and work with our in-house recruitment team on the recruitment and induction of new staff members.
* To be aware of and act in accordance with current legislation, good practice, nursery policies and procedures.
Qualifications and experience; the ideal candidate should have:
* A full and relevant Level 3 qualification in childcare/early years education. Higher qualifications such as EYT/EYP would be advantageous, but not essential.
* A minimum of 3 years of childcare experience.
* A minimum of 2 years of leadership experience within a nursery/childcare environment
* A deep understanding of EYFS across all age groups and knowledge of statutory legislation.
* Excellent knowledge of safeguarding principles and procedures.
* Previous experience in a SENDCo role ideally supported by relevant qualifications is a bonus but not essential.
* Experience in successfully navigating OFSTED inspections, including preparation and on the day, demonstrating your ability to maintain the highest standards of quality and compliance.
* Liaising with and working in partnership with the Local Authority, and other regulatory bodies including Ofsted.
