We are looking to recruit to various upcoming posts within the Medicine and Emergency Care Division and Surgical Specialties Division.
Working as part of a healthcare team and under the supervision of a registered nurse, you will be responsible for delivering safe and compassionate patient care.
Previous experience of working in a healthcare setting is preferred for this recruitment session.
You will be required to work a shift pattern of early, late, night and weekends across a 7-day roster.
Applicants new to health care in an acute Trust and/or those who do not hold a Care Certificate will start as AFC band 2 until the Care Certificate is achieved.
As part of your role, you will be supported to complete the national Care Certificate for support staff. Completion of the certificate is essential and requires attending a 9-day programme delivered Monday to Friday when you start at the Trust.
For staff who have a part-time contract, you will need to be able to attend the programme over a 37.5-hour week, and your time will be paid for. If anyone has restrictions due to carer's duties or other commitments, please discuss this at interview so we may find a solution to offer support through a flexible route.
Following the taught programme, you will be supported in practice to achieve the care certificate competencies within 12 weeks. If you are unable to achieve completion, this may affect your employment in the Trust.
All candidates are also required to register for their Level 2 Adult Care within the first 6 months of employment and complete it within 12 months.
Full and part-time hours are available.
The Trust has achieved the status of Disability Confident Employer and is guaranteed to invite applicants to interview who meet the essential criteria for the job vacancy. We encourage applications from all sections of the community.
