We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and engaging chaplain to join our ESNEFT chaplaincy team which provides high quality pastoral, spiritual and religious care for people of all faiths and beliefs in our hospitals across East Suffolk and North Essex.
This is an exciting opportunity based at Colchester Hospital, from where the chaplains also care for patients, visitors, staff and volunteers at our community hospitals in Clacton and Harwich.
You will be eager to work in a multi-faith and belief context with a genuine passion for offering person-centred non-judgemental care to patients, visitors, staff and volunteers.
This opportunity is for a chaplain who can work well as part of a team, and who is also able to operate as an autonomous, qualified practitioner seeking out and responding to the pastoral, spiritual and religious needs of patients, visitors, staff and volunteers.
• The provision of pastoral, spiritual, and religious care for patients, visitors, staff, and volunteers of all faiths and beliefs
• Regular pastoral visiting within wards and departments and providing specific support to the seriously ill and those requiring end of life pastoral, spiritual and religious care
• Working as part of the multi-disciplinary healthcare team
• Providing training and advice to healthcare staff in the pastoral, spiritual and religious care of patients and their visitors
• The provision of support for staff as required
• Assisting and advising local faith and belief leaders in the pastoral, spiritual and religious care of their people while in hospital, being mindful of the rules of confidentiality by which every NHS employee is bound
