Clinical Physiologist (Healthcare Science Practitioner Specialist)
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Neurophysiology department, at The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust, a world leading centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery. The suitably qualified Clinical Physiologist will join a team in Neurophysiology, undertaking a range of Neurophysiology investigations both on and offsite in the Merseyside area.
All applicants must be trained in all aspects of EEG which includes routine, sleep deprived, activation, portable and ITU EEG recordings. They must have experience in performing evoked potential recordings (VEP, BAEP and SSEP) and nerve conduction studies. It is essential that all applicants can demonstrate competency in long term monitoring (ambulatory EEG and video telemetry EEG). The department has a comprehensive Neurophysiology theatre monitoring programme.
All applicants would be expected to contribute towards training of clinical physiologists for Manchester Metropolitan University (PTP) and participate in our active multi-disciplinary clinical audit programme while working at high professional clinical standards at all times.
The post holder must be an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual, experienced in all modalities of neurophysiology at the level of the Practitioner Training Program (PTP) or apprenticeship program in neurophysiology or equivalent and be registered with the Academy of Healthcare Science formerly RCCP.
Main duties of the job
Primarily, the post holder will undertake ambulatory EEG and video telemetry, and all aspects of routine EEGs, in addition to NCS and EPs.

Qualifications
* BSc Hons Neurosensory Science (Neurophysiology) or equivalent experience
* BTEC HNC/D in Medical Physics and Phys.Measurements
* 4 GCSEs (Grade A-C) including Maths, English, and Dual Science, or equivalent
* ECNE Part 1
* ECNE Part 2 or equivalent experience
* RCCP Registered
Knowledge & Experience
* Practical experience and familiarity with a range of routine Neurophysiological investigations
* Supervisory experience
