General Summary:
Reporting to the VP of Machining, the Warehouse supervisor will be responsible for leading and driving warehouse daily operation from goods receiving, warehouse management, pick & pack, to customer shipment.
It is also essential to lead warehouse optimizations via projects such as material flow improvement and documenting standardized operating procedures related to all aspects of the Warehouse operations. The successful incumbent must have front-line supervisory experience.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety procedures and company policies. Conduct regular safety audits and provide training on safety protocols.
* Quality Control: Ensure qualified parts, quantities and packing requirements before shipments.
* Supervision: Lead and supervise warehouse associates, ensuring the proper training and performance of the team.
* Ensure shipping, receiving, warehousing, material handling, and other related processes are adhered to by employees in a timely and efficient manner.
* Team Management: Schedule shifts, delegate tasks, and manage the performance of warehouse staff. Resolve any conflicts or issues within the team.
* Inventory Management: Ensure accurate inventory counts and help manage stock levels. Perform regular cycle counts and reconciliation to minimize errors and discrepancies. Implement and ensure transactional inventory disciplines to manage the proper movement of goods from demand entry, goods receipt, and shipment. Champion, measure, and drive inventory accuracy and reduction initiatives to attain goals and objectives as defined by the organization.
* Order Fulfillment: Oversee the picking, packing, and shipping of orders to ensure timely delivery.
* Shipping & Receiving: Monitor the receiving of incoming shipments and the distribution of outgoing products. Ensure proper documentation, labeling, and storage.
* Equipment Maintenance: Monitor the proper usage of warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) and ensure that it is well-maintained.
* Reporting: Generate and review reports related to warehouse operations, such as OTD, cycle counts status, labour usage, space utilization and so on.
* Lean Thinking: Ensure lean principles are applied to part flow and all other warehouse management activities.
* Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs.
* Oversee special projects focused on continuous improvement within the warehouse. Work with C.I. Specialist and lead the team through the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle to fulfill cost reduction targets.
* Notify the appropriate departments or management if production milestones are not met.
* Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the EQI core values.
* Complete other duties and projects as assigned.
Job Requirements:
* Diploma in Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
* 3 years’ ERP experience in a contract manufacturing environment (EPICOR, Syteline, MS Dynamics or Sage software platforms).
* Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Must have a minimum of 5 years in a distribution/manufacturing environment, including a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Warehouse Management System.
* Front-line Supervisory/Leadership experience.
* Minimum of 2 years of Lean and C.I. Proven track record of implementing process improvement projects.
* Working knowledge of inventory control analysis and production control techniques and management thereof.
* Experience in the development and management of Kanban system is a plus.
* Thorough understanding of supply chain concepts and their financial impact (inventory turns, cash flow, and working capital).
* Fundamental understanding of operational financial principles (P&L management).
* Strong problem solving, and analytical skills.
* Inquisitive.
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Ability to simultaneously manage projects and day-to-day operations with a sense of urgency and without compromising quality.
