Description Position at DNEG Job Description The Crowd Artist is responsible, under the direction of the Crowd Supervisor, to deliver all aspects of crowd behaviours and simulations as required for the project using off the shelf or our own proprietary softwares and tools. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Creative with a strong attention to detail Organise and present your work to your Supervisor and Visual Effects Supervisor and address any notes accurately. Creating crowd simulations from key framed cycles or motion capture data, using Crowd simulation software and motion editing tools. Attend all relevant meetings on shots, sequences, and production Able to work independently with minimal supervision Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Team player who excels within a collaborative environment KEY REQUIREMENTS AND SKILL SETS Proven experience and knowledge working with Houdini and Maya Proven experience in working with crowds on Feature or VFX productions Experience working with a USD based pipeline Experience working in a Linux production environment Strong teamwork and communication skills Experience in cycle animation, character animation, rigging, and/or mocap is a plus Scripting in languages like Python, VEX is a plus Experience with Motion Builder, Massive, Golaem or other crowd software packages are a plus About Us We are DNEG, one of the world’s leading visual effects and animation companies for the creation of award-winning feature film, television, and multiplatform content.
