Experienced Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager required to take the lead on a £300M civils project in Portsmouth, Hampshire. Works have commenced on site and are expected to complete in 2031. This is a framework project for a key client with a strong pipeline of works across the UK.
Reporting into the Project Director and working closely alongside the operational team, you will be responsible for ensuring all compliance & works are following the standard UK legislation across the project.
This Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager role will involve consulting with the client and directors to ensure they are advised regarding best practices and ongoing activities within the site, including providing support during the planning stage, method statements, and reporting statistics.
As Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of two advisors, providing support, progression, and creating a positive culture surrounding Health, Safety & Wellbeing via reports, campaigns, and events to promote the business's HSW standards and culture.
This role is with a busy Tier 1 international contractor who specializes in dynamic and complex civil engineering projects worldwide. Traditionally, works include tunneling, energy, marine, rail, aviation, and heavy infrastructure works. Due to the nature of the works, projects can be located anywhere across the country, which comes with a lucrative subsidiary.
Key attributes for the right individual will include previous experience on heavy civils schemes (essential), practice overseeing & driving a team, and reporting to board level, as well as a strong knowledge surrounding Health & Safety standards and plans. Former experience on a similar value scheme within the civils sector is essential.
