Job Title: Field Service Engineer
Reports to: General Manager
Position Summary
The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for on-site installations, calibrations, commissioning, and training for new product purchases. He or she will also perform remote and onsite troubleshooting and repairs on the Company's asphalt and concrete product lines. The position will be based in their home office in the UK.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform installations, calibrations, service, retrofits, maintenance, and all start up and commissioning activities at customer locations for the Company's asphalt and concrete product lines;
* Learn the operation/maintenance and service protocols for the Company's portfolio of manufactured products;
* Provide remote and on-line diagnostic support to customers as required;
* Work closely with the Company's engineers in Milan, Italy to be able to offer a complete technical support solution to our customers;
* Record all customer support activities in the Controls Service Support Ticketing system;
* Support the Company's Sales Team on applications, service, or warranty issues;
* Log root causes for service requests in order for the Company to report trends back to Engineering team in Milan, Italy;
* Manage the Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) process for assigned customers;
* Verify and assess equipment status and estimate repair activities and communicate to the customer the initial estimation of repair costs;
Experience, Skills and Education
* Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience with electrical control systems or hydraulic or pneumatic testing systems used for construction material testing required;
* College degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Technology preferred, but not necessary;
* Ability to read drawings and schematics required;
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
* Excellent verbal and written communication and reporting skills as well as strong interpersonal skills;
* Willingness to travel up to 50%-70%
* Candidate must have solid time management skills and be self-motivated, results driven with self-confidence and discipline and the ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment;
Compensation
* Base salary, depending on candidate experience
* 21 days holiday plus the UK statutory and bank holidays
