Main duties of the job
The patient experience is at the centre of everything we do and this post represents our next phase of our service strategy – the development of an integrated long term conditions (LTC) pathway. The Talking Therapy services will offer the local population a LTC service, focusing on the highly prevalent LTCs, which are Cancer, COPD, Asthma, and Diabetes. There are already developed partnerships in areas, and the post holder will need to link into the local ICS “Joint Forward Plan”. As a senior clinician, you will join our senior leadership team and provide clinical leadership focusing on quality and clinical development to deliver a LTC strategy, a clinical pathway, and then act as a senior clinician whose portfolio will also include leadership within this area.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Working under the direction of the clinical lead:
1. Provide clinical leadership for Long Term Conditions, providing associated consultation, training and clinical supervision to other team members.
2. Provide evidence-based psychological therapy within your specified modality to a more complex clinical population.
3. Lead on developing integrated clinical pathways, to ensure place-based therapy delivery.
4. Ensure services meet the national competency frameworks, ensuring workforce compliance with NICE approved therapies and relevant psychological therapy/supervision competency frameworks.
5. With the clinical lead, provide a quality feedback framework, by inputting to incident report reviews, critical incidents, and serious incident reports.
6. Contribute to the implementation of specialist area pathways and provide ongoing monitoring.
7. Engage in research activity within the services, providing a point of contact and a conduit to research colleagues.
8. Propose and implement policy changes within the area served by the team/service.
9. Provide supportive clinical leadership to engage and support the workforce in providing effective therapies.
10. Lead on “Making every contact count”, to aid the promotion of healthy lifestyles and reducing health inequalities for clients who use the service.
11. Deputise for the clinical lead, when required and on a rotational basis.
Person specification
Quals and Training
* Accredited by the BABCP in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy or BABCP Registered as a wellbeing practitioner or accredited by BACP, UKCP or NCS.
* Minimum of a QAA level 7 qualification (Master’s level) in the area of health psychology topic area / long term conditions or equivalent portfolio.
* Doctoral level training in a HCPC approved practitioner psychology training and HCPC registration as a relevantly qualified practitioner psychologist.
* EMDR accredited therapist at Consultant level or working towards Consultant EMDR.
* Completion of TTAD (IAPT) / TTAD supervisor training or an accredited clinical supervisor in chosen field.
* PhD or publication history in the field of psychological therapy and long-term conditions.
Experience
* Experience of working within a TTAD (IAPT) service and skilled in collaborative assessment, formulation and working alongside colleagues from a range of disciplines.
* Track record and experience of implementing evidence-based therapies and supervision.
* Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course and presenting with the full range of clinical severity.
* Experience of leading on long term conditions pathways within TTAD (IAPT) services.
* Experience of leading a project involving psychological professionals.
