Job Description
A recognised high volume manufacturer are currently looking to strengthen their Tooling department with the appointment of aTooling Engineer.
Working from their manufacturing facility in Shropshire,the Tooling Engineerwill be responsible for:
1. Responsible for owning and delivering all new Tooling projects
2. To review and buy off Tooling designs.
3. Project management of tooling suppliers.
4. Attend buy off events and oversee sampling and commissioning at suppliers and home line.
5. Own and manage Pre and Final acceptance tests.
6. Produce 2D product, tooling, fixture, equipment drawings to support manufacturing, quality and engineering activities.
7. Part Feasibility reviews and to apply design for Manufacturability (DFM) principals to evaluate product designs.
8. Complete understanding of part tolerances, dimensional capability statistics and GD&T.
9. Generate and develop Part and Tooling CAD models using SolidWorks or CATIA and Produce 2D product, tooling, fixture, equipment drawings to support manufacturing, quality and engineering activities.
10. Capable of interrogating flow analysis reports.
11. Generate SOR, RFQ to support engineering and quoting activities.
12. Support continuous improvement activities through effective use of 3D and 2D CAD to propose product design changes and tooling improvements
