Teacher of Mathematics and Computer Science
Permanent; Full time
Commencing: September 2025
Closing date: 24 February 2025 at 12 noon
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and passionate teacher to join the Mathematics and Computer Science Department at Haileybury.
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher to inspire and challenge pupils across all year groups, from Lower School 1 (Year 7) to the Upper Sixth. This role is suitable for either an Early Career Teacher (ECT) seeking a supportive and dynamic environment for their first position or an experienced educator looking for a new challenge in an academically stimulating setting.
Computer Science is offered as GCSE, A Level, and International Baccalaureate (IB) courses, alongside bespoke in-house options. These courses cover all aspects of modern computing, including programming in Python, using web technologies like HTML and JavaScript, app design, and understanding the practical and ethical implications of AI. Pupils also gain a thorough understanding of the hardware systems that underpin these technologies.
Mathematics is compulsory at GCSE level for all pupils. For Sixth Form pupils, A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics are offered alongside Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches, and Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation as IB courses. Beyond the curriculum, our pupils engage with the Haileybury Maths Society, the Haileybury Oxbridge Maths Group and national competitions such as the UKMT Senior Mathematical Challenge.
Our Mathematics and Computer Science department is highly collaborative, offering a supportive and stimulating environment where teachers can develop professionally and contribute to an outstanding educational experience.
