Summary:
The Residential Case Maintenance Worker/Child Advocate will work with the Residential Case Manager providing follow-up case maintenance to established service plans and provide direct supportive services to children who have experienced domestic violence in a trauma-informed approach. This position will help in the administration and management of the shelter/transitional housing facility program in conjunction with the Director of Residential Services. This position will provide case management and advocacy to victims and their children of domestic violence, assault, and human trafficking. Must be dedicated to the mission of YWCA York.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* When on duty: Responsible for security of the building, contents of the building, and the well-being of building occupants. Must hold scheduled fire evacuation drill monthly and orient new staff to evacuation procedures.
* Conduct intakes when necessary, answer hotline, and perform hospital accompaniments as needed.
* Provide emotional support to children, coordinate and implement children’s programs as needed.
* Provide intake interviews and develop service plans for each child by meeting with each parent to establish individual needs of the child.
* Advocate on behalf of children with outside agencies and maintain cooperative working relationships with other community resources as needed.
* Provide parenting skills through individual and/or group counseling, and facilitate children support groups as needed.
* Participate in house meetings, staff meetings, and direct service meetings.
* Maintain statistics, children’s files, and reports as required by PCADV.
* Responsible for the children’s areas within the emergency shelter and children’s programming room.
* Maintain confidential materials associated with the agency’s clients and files.
* Work with the Director of Residential Services, Residential Coordinator/Case Manager, and/or Residential Coordinator in menu planning, food shopping when necessary, and keeping a running inventory of food and household supplies.
* Must be able to flex work schedule based upon the operational needs of the Emergency Shelter.
* Other duties as required or assigned.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalency certificate. Must complete PCAR/PCCD/PCADV advocate training within 90 days of employment.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Skill in the provision of services to victims of domestic violence in crisis; strong decision-making ability. Ability to supervise and work cooperatively with other staff members.

* Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 25 pounds.
* May require driving in inclement weather.
* Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and typing.
Full-time, 11 am to 7 pm. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
