Position: Quantity Surveyor
Client: Main Contractor
Project: £100m Data Centre Construction (civils and concrete packages)
Location: West London
Salary: £40,000 - £60,000
B&B Construction Recruitment is delighted to be working with one of our leading construction companies specialising in complex structural alterations, concrete structures, refurbishment, new build, and infrastructure projects. Operating primarily in London and the southeast, the company have expanded its reach to projects in Dublin, Denmark, Belgium, and Germany and serves as a leading Tier 1 subcontractor to major UK contractors, including MACE, ISG, SKANSKA, Balfour Beatty, and Sir Robert McAlpine.
The group comprises seven divisions, covering subcontracting, main contracting for projects up to £25 million, rail and infrastructure, and European data centres. As of 2024, the group has achieved a turnover exceeding £200 million.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the cost control and financial performance of the project
* Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts
* Procure subcontractors, review tender submissions, and negotiate contract terms
* Monitor project progress, ensuring that costs align with project milestones and work completed
* Provide accurate and timely cost reporting to senior management, stakeholders, and clients
* Administer variations, contract changes, and ensure proper documentation and agreement
* Ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements
* Work closely with project managers, site teams, and clients to resolve any financial issues or queries
* Conduct site visits to assess work progress and ensure quality control
What We Are Looking For:
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the construction or civil engineering sectors
* Solid understanding of JCT and NEC contracts, with a focus on managing variations and claims
* Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
* Experience with project cost control, budgets, and financial reporting
* A degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred
