Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer on behalf of one of our clients. Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Support in product/process design and development activity.
2. Take team member role in ensuring risk analysis are complete, ensure all product risks are identified using DFMEAs, PFMEAs, APQP and Capability Studies and other risk management techniques.
3. Access and maintain technical documentation using a PDM system.
4. Able to read complex drawings and apply/interrogate product specifications.
5. Develop policies, procedures, and methods to check product, material, components and/or operational quality.
6. Develop and implement technically complex methods and procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection to ensure that the products are free of flaws and function as designed.
7. Perform QMS and product audits against ISO9001 and AS9100, identifying actions to develop, assure, and maintain the quality of products and processes.
8. Complete FAI reporting of products. Complete relevant forms to customer requirement and perform approval of reports.
9. Perform concern investigation and comply fully with resolution process.
10. Support supplier/process/customer quality improvement activities: Interface with supplier quality representatives concerning quality problems, ensure that effective corrective actions are implemented, and support development of supplier quality improvement programs where required.
11. Support issue resolution for factory operations group.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
2. Ability to read technical drawings and work with specification documents
3. Experience of supporting DFMEA/PFMEA
4. Experience of AS9100 and related specifications
5. Experience using measuring equipment
6. Experience of dealing with production problems. Applying robust corrective actions to ensure the product is produced to the desired quality
7. Root cause analysis and 8D problem solving

£35,000 – £45,000 Per Annum
