We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and autonomous HCPC Registered Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our well-established Home First Rehabilitation Service in the North of Staffordshire.
You will be part of the Allied Health Professions (AHP) service providing Occupational Therapy and will work in a variety of settings.
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality rehabilitation to patients with a range of physical health conditions including MSK, Stroke, Parkinson's disease, Neurological conditions, Spinal Injuries, Cancer, Post Surgery, General Frailty, Amputees, plus a wide range of other conditions.
We offer excellent support through CPD routes and building robust learning plans within the four pillars of AHP practice; offering opportunities to represent and promote our service locally, regionally, and nationally.
Due to this being a varied role, you will be required to travel across the geographical area to meet the demands of the role.
Main duties of the job
The role involves managing a caseload of adults in close liaison with the Home First Team. Many of these patients will have multiple complex health needs and will require you to work closely with uni/multi-disciplinary teams/agencies in addressing a range of care/support issues across the spectrum of conditions, preventing unnecessary hospital admissions and improving the health and wellbeing of our patients.
As part of this role you will be expected to:
* Be a specialist HCPC Registered Specialist Occupational Therapist with detailed professional and clinical knowledge.
* Be highly skilled in the assessment of complex/specialist care/support needs and in the development, implementation, and evaluation of care/support packages.
* Have supervisory, training, and leadership responsibilities where appropriate and some responsibility for team performance and service developments/improvements.
* Demonstrate initiative and creativity in problem-solving.
* Work with the team leader undertaking delegated tasks in team management.
* Promote independence/self-management and maintain safety.
* Increase functional ability.
* Improve health and wellbeing including mental health.

Qualifications and Training
* Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
* Registration with HCPC/NMC
* Fieldwork educators accreditation
* Hold a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle
* Modules at Masters level
* Evidence of further clinical study
* APPLE accreditation
* Membership of BAOT / COT
Experience
* Post qualification courses in working with older people and people with physical disabilities.
* Attendance at relevant clinical networks or Special Interest Groups
* Up to date field work/pre-registration student training.
* Experience of using standardised assessments and outcome measures.
* Experience of negotiation and conflict management in clinical situations.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
