Job summary
An exciting opportunity for a Qualified CBT Therapist or Clinical Psychologist to join the new, pioneering Specialist Mental Health Support Team (MHST) working with Children, Young people and their families in Special Schools and who are electively home educated, leading this innovative new team in building our offer in this area. The team forms part of the Early Help provision within Hampshire CAMHS, working closely with other MHSTs in the region and Tier 3 CAMHS teams, including the specialist Learning Disability and Autism Team. The postholder will either possess or be willing to work towards CBT Supervisor Accreditation and will be the lead for the low and high intensity clinicians working within the Specialist MHST and will have a passion and motivation for working with Autistic Children and young people with or without a learning disability, aiming to improve mental health and emotional wellbeing of this population. You will be offering assessments and interventions to children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, contributing to the core work of the team, as well as offering more specialist clinical interventions. The role will provide the opportunity to become involved in delivering evidence-based group interventions. You will receive regular supervision, opportunities to link with other specialist practitioners in the trust, as well as access training opportunities offered by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
Main duties of the job
To work as a member of the Specialist Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) in special schools and with children and young people who are electively home educated, providing a high quality, specialist psychological therapy service to young people, their families, or carers. In addition, to support psychological practice within the team through consultation, supervision, formulation, and training and by participating in systematic clinical governance. To work with complex presentations suitable for psychological therapy in the team, utilising a high level of knowledge and experience and adapting approaches as appropriate, with regard to evidence-based practice.

Qualifications
Essential
1. A recognised post graduate qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (or equivalent).
2. Accreditation with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP).
3. A recognised qualification in one of the core mental health professions recognised by BABCP, e.g. psychiatric nursing, clinical psychology, medicine, social work, occupational therapy or counselling AND current registration with the core professional body, OR evidence of having achieved the Knowledge Skills and Attitudes (KSA) route to BABCP accreditation.
4. Evidence of relevant continuing professional development.
