We have a wonderful opportunity to work on Bulphan ward in Basildon Hospital. Bulphan ward is an acute ward for elderly patients.
Main duties of the job
Your role will be to give and receive patient-centered handovers, assessing, developing and implementing patient care plans, and evaluating care given, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately.
You will ensure all drug administration is in accordance with legal and Trust directorate policies and procedures, assisting with safe custody, storage and control of all drugs at ward level and ensuring the discharge planning process starts on admission to prevent delays and make good utilization of ward beds.
Your role involves assisting and supervising other members of the nursing team as appropriate, ensuring that all staff work to and achieve an acceptable safe standard and quality of care, assisting in the monitoring of all ward staff as required, and facilitating and supervising more junior staff in maintaining patient care, allocating staff according to patient dependency, taking all steps possible to safeguard the health, welfare, and safety of all staff and patients.
