The flagship hotel in the group, opened back in 2011. We offer guests a classic example of a country house hotel, with a kitchen garden that evolves with the seasons that supplies the produce found on our 25-mile menu.
The Role:
As the Pastry Sous Chef, you will play an integral role in the overall operation of our pastry service, ensuring a consistent delivery and standard at all times. You will be responsible for the junior staff on the section, leading by example and supporting their development.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Oversee the effective running of our pastry service, ensuring timescales and high standards are met.
2. Prepare an array of desserts that utilize the produce within our kitchen garden and sourced from local suppliers.
3. Work closely with the Head Chef/Senior Sous and kitchen garden team regarding the produce being used within the pastry section.
4. Ensure a clean and tidy workstation at all times.
5. Support the development of our kitchen team, working closely with our Apprentice Chefs.
Skills & Experience:
Our kitchens are busy and bustling. Come with enthusiasm, your knives, and a bucketful of passion, and we can help you develop the rest. Experience as a Pastry Chef within a similar establishment is required.
