An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the leadership of the Procurement Team as a Senior Procurement Category Manager.
You will provide a professional, customer-focused service for the procurement of goods, services, and works for Wakefield Council. With a focus on delivering a best-in-class service, you will have the opportunity to develop a category-led approach to procurement, which will influence spend, understand business needs, and develop innovative sourcing opportunities that will contribute towards a positive legacy within the Council.
You will play an influential part in shaping procurement solutions that deliver value for money and have focused outcomes that help directorates achieve the best possible results for our residents.
In addition, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective operational management, service delivery, and for a small, dedicated team of procurement professionals. The postholder will also act as a deputy for the Head of Procurement as required.
You will be CIPS qualified (level 6) and have a strong record of success in a large multi-disciplinary organization. We will need you to be strong on governance and an excellent communicator who can demonstrate strong judgment at senior level and be a credible leader.
