The Soft Facilities Team are a friendly and professional team that work together effectively across our property services. Soft FM are essential in providing face to face services and signposting to site users and visitors, gathering and providing information about access to services and assistance, and prioritising requests according to needs and requirements.
About the role
As a Facilities Assistant Apprentice, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our facilities meet high standards of efficiency. Our Apprenticeship offers an alternative route into the profession and is a great way of kick-starting your future career. The apprenticeship in Facilities Services is designed for someone with limited previous experience to enter the workforce.
You will build your skills across the directorate which will include:
• Providing face to face services and signposting to site users, gathering and providing information about access to services and assistance, and prioritising requests according to needs and requirements.
• To learn how to deal sensitively with confidential information
• Support colleagues with the routine site security including lock/unlock and alarming premises. Help Promote and deliver organisational health and safety policies
• Support colleagues with the monitoring of routine checks and statutory testing.
• Support the fire coordinator and assist in building evacuation for fire and bomb alerts.
This is an outward-facing position where liaison with customers is a key priority and forms a major part of the role.
Unlike going to university, the Apprenticeship will let you gain a qualification with no tuition fees whilst earning a wage! You will have an excellent platform and opportunity to build a career in this area and possibly go on to study at degree level.
On successful completion of the apprenticeship there will be the opportunity to move into a permanent Facilities support officer role.

About you
This is a trainee intermediate level apprenticeship role designed ideally for an individual who has little or no previous work experience in a similar job. As a trainee member of the team apprentices will develop the skills and experience necessary to perform duties which support both the team and the wider service.
