The role of the Primary Schools Project Lead is to run, develop and report on all aspects of our work in primary schools across Guildford Borough, with a particular focus on the general wellbeing and emotional health of young people in years five and six, as well as their transition to secondary school. This person will act as the key contact and coordinator for this area of work.
What do we expect from you?
Project Leadership
This role requires you to coordinate several related areas of work (detailed below) and you will be expected to:
Line manage the Early Intervention Practitioners, project volunteers and any additional team required as the project expands.
Actively promote Matrixs work within Primary Schools and recruit further volunteers to support the project.
Exemplify the values and Christian ethos of Matrix - ensuring that all paid and voluntary team members do the same.
Support the SLT in leading prayers, devotions and other forms of worship within wider team meetings and lead the Primary team in these as appropriate.
Ensure a welcoming and inclusive environment within all areas of work you are responsible for.
Ensure the collation of qualitative and quantitative feedback across all areas for which you are responsible.
Work within the set budget of the project you are leading.
Ensure these areas of work meet their pre-agreed outcomes and regularly report on these.
Maintain and develop Matrix current relationships with Primary Schools, as well as actively seek to develop new links.
Liaise with the wider team, including SLT and the DSL to ensure that all areas of responsibility meet the statutory requirements placed upon them.
School Transition Coaching
Through one-to-one sessions reduce the impact of the transition from Primary to Secondary School. You will be expected to:
Liaise with and build good working relationships with Primary schools to illicit referrals from them.
Receive, triage and delegate all referrals for transition support.
Prepare session plans and resources for the team and monitor these for their effectiveness.
Conduct and organise one-to-one sessions to listen to, analyse and respond to the holistic needs of children and young people.
Manage, monitor and evaluate caseloads of individual team members within this workstream.
Workshops and Wellbeing Sessions
Through one-to-one and group work, provide support to primary school pupils with their emotional wellbeing and mental health. You will be expected to:
Liaise with and build good working relationships with Primary schools, to ensure activities are appropriately targeted and undertaken in suitable space.
Prepare activities to be undertaken in each sessions; both in liaison with the school and considering the current needs of young people.
Support the team to create sessions based on need and research
Support the team to promote, book and run sessions; helping them to respond to the holistic needs of each young person.
Manage, monitor and evaluate caseloads of individual team members within this workstream.
