Release Manager Salary £50,000 - £55,000 The Quality Engineering CoE are looking for a Release Manager to join the team and provide IT software delivery and implementation through Release calendar to support the Aviva business. The area manages the controlled, reliable, and predictable delivery of change within the complex and shifting environment across multiple platforms and teams. A bit about the job: A Release Manager plays a crucial role in the software development lifecycle, ensuring that software products are delivered smoothly and safely. Here are some key responsibilities and duties of a Release Manager: Planning and Coordination : Plan the release of project deliverables and release-related activities, coordinating with various teams such as project management, software development, quality engineering, and operations where applicable. Managing the Release Process : This includes scheduling, planning, and controlling the delivery process. They oversee the release management lifecycle, which involves managing releases across multiple applications and portfolios. Execution and Monitoring : They lead and coordinate Go-Live activities working with Release engineers to include the execution of deployment plans and checklists. They also monitor progress, manage risks, and resolve conflicts to ensure successful product releases and protecting service for Aviva's customers. Continuous Improvement : Release Managers continually work towards improving the release process, conducting release readiness reviews, milestone reviews, and business go/no-go reviews. Documentation and Communication : Work with Release Engineers and Platform teams to Produce deployment run books and implementation plans, manage key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, etc. Skills and experience we're looking for: Experience : Extensive experience in release management or a related role. Technical Knowledge : Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and experience with release management tools and methodologies. Project Management : Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Communication : Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with various teams and stakeholders. Problem-Solving : Proactive and strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills. Agile and DevOps : Experience with Agile and DevOps practices, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
