CDM Recruitment has partnered with a leading consultancy to find an experienced Building Safety Consultant to join their Principal Designer team. This role involves working with diverse clients across the built environment throughout the UK, offering expertise on Building Regulations during the pre-construction phase.
Company Overview: Our client manages a wide array of projects across sectors including residential, commercial, retail, office, leisure, hotel, industrial, manufacturing, sports, and education. This position has been created in response to industry changes associated with the Building Safety Regulator. The consultancy aims to integrate its Principal Designer and Building Safety services to help clients navigate these changes and ensure compliance with building regulations.
Ideal Candidate: This role is ideal for a Building Control professional or Approved Inspector with several years of experience. Strong interpersonal skills are essential due to the client-facing nature of the role. The company is also open to candidates who are not yet registered with the Building Safety Regulator (BSR).
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide advice on the Building Safety Act.
* Conduct plan checks submitted for Building Regulation approval.
* Collaborate with Principal Designers, Principal Contractors, and other parties to ensure project compliance.
* Participate in client and design team meetings, offering professional insights related to building regulations compliance.
* Provide technical advice to clients, contractors, developers, colleagues, and key stakeholders.
* Ensure all projects comply with current building regulations and legislation.
Requirements:
* Degree in Building Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
* Membership with RICS, CABE, or CIOB.
* Experience in building and property inspections.
* In-depth knowledge of BSA building regulations, codes, and legislation.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
