Job Purpose
As a Purchasing Assistant, you’ll support the Senior Project Managers and wider team with procurement, logistics, and administrative duties.
This is a fast-paced, office-based role where attention to detail, organisation, and communication are key. You’ll play a vital part in maintaining smooth operations across the purchasing and delivery process.
Day-to-Day Duties
* Raise and process purchase orders using Sage 50 and Excel
* Coordinate transport and logistics with couriers, suppliers, and clients
* File Proof of Delivery documents and update Sage accordingly
* Provide general admin support to Senior Project Managers
* Manage and prioritise multiple administrative tasks efficiently
* Answer calls and emails, maintaining a professional and friendly tone
* Keep accurate records and contribute to continuous process improvements
* Assist with procurement tasks and ordering of materials or goods
* Monitor shipments and deliveries, ensuring timely arrivals
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
Essential Skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
* Strong administrative and organisational skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication
* Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Previous experience in an admin or sales support role
* Confident phone manner and customer service approach
Desirable Skills
* Experience with Sage 50 Accounting software
* Basic understanding of procurement or logistics
* Exposure to accountancy principles or working with financial systems
* Experience within a manufacturing or furniture industry environment
Training
