At Swegon, we are seeking a new IT & Systems Engineer to join our IT & Business Systems department. Reporting to the IT Systems & Projects Manager, your time will be split between our offices in the Midlands, Ashby and Walsall, with the potential to work 1 day a week from home once you have successfully passed your probation.
Position Summary:
Working within a small dynamic team, the role is focused on providing hands-on IT support to the UK & Ireland businesses, including key application support whilst providing core IT services and IT Infrastructure support. Working closely with key approved suppliers ensures good service levels and escalates issues to the relevant leadership teams. Driving service level improvements whilst acting as a key conduit to the group’s main MSP including promoting the group’s service desk structure.
Championing IT best practices within the teams focused on driving IT engagement and value for the business group companies and our customers. Driving IT best practices within the business including security awareness safeguarding business data and staff. Support IT & business systems projects, from scoping through to delivery including documentation to deliver value-driven projects including working with key suppliers.
Working with key stakeholders at all levels within the business to review IT processes and look at ways to drive more adaptation and ensure systems and hardware are fit for purpose. The role will include elements of cross-support within the small team and group, including working closely with key supplier partners.
Main duties and responsibilities:
* Provide full 1st -2nd support directly with users and via the business-nominated MSP partner
* Maintain service and incident tickets, including escalating supplier tickets and providing feedback to both internal and external customers
* Provide support for the server IT hardware estate including managing third-party support agreements, within the group
* Work within a remote support environment
* Provide support for the desktop IT hardware, including managing third-party support agreements, within the group
* Provide core business application support including escalation to third parties
* Administration of the business Team’s voice infrastructure
* Provide a focal point for application improvements
* Maintaining printer fleet, including third-party support
* Maintain network infrastructure including security in line with group guidance
* Provide business application administration for relevant applications within the UK&I
* Maintain business application patch levels
* Manage company mobile fleet, including MDM
* Maintain company assets including user allocation
* Providing hands-on IT support whilst supporting key supplier partners
* Maintain relevant business IT accreditation
* Process scoping, design, and documentation
* Providing commercial proposals and budget plans
* Provide training for relevant applications
* Run new staff inductions
Experience:
* 1st and 2nd line IT support experience
* Desktop management experience
* Server management
* Remote Support
* Networking experience TCP/IP, Wi-Fi & security
* Project experience
