We are looking for an Indirect Category Buyer to join the team initially on a 9- fixed term contract.
You will work closely with the Procurement Manager and wider team, with specific focus on building strong relationships with their supplier base to ensure better quality and cost are delivered. You must also have a proven ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, being adaptable and welcome to change.
As an Indirect Category Buyer, you will manage and optimise the purchasing strategy for indirect categories such as IT, Marketing, Facilities, and Professional Services. You will be responsible for supplier negotiations, contract management, cost analysis, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. This role is crucial in supporting business objectives by driving cost efficiency, ensuring service quality, and promoting sustainable sourcing practices.
Indirect Category Buyer Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and efficiency in service delivery.
- Lead contract negotiations and ensure terms align with business objectives and cost-saving targets.
- Conduct thorough market research to understand trends, potential risks, and opportunities in the indirect procurement landscape.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives without compromising service quality; continually assess ways to streamline expenses.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders (Finance, Legal, Operations, etc.) to identify and understand procurement needs and ensure alignment with organisational requirements.
- Monitor key performance metrics, produce regular category reports, and provide insights for process improvements.

- Strong analytical abilities to evaluate supplier performance, market trends, and category spend.
- High level of attention to detail to manage contracts, analyse cost structures, and assess supplier capabilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changes effectively.
The role offers hybrid working, which will require you to attend the Bristol office 3 days week.
