Healthcare Data Modeller / Analyst
12-Month Fixed Term Contract
Hybrid – 1 day per week onsite preferred
Location: London (EC2R 7HJ) / Staines (TW18 3DZ) / Salford Quays (M50 3SP)
Salary range: £31,000+ depending on exp & location.
Full time: scheduled 37.5 hours per week

We are seeking a Healthcare Data Modeller to join our B2C agile delivery squads. You will create and maintain valuable datasets that empower our teams to make informed decisions and support data democratisation.
How you’ll help us make health happen:
* Support the delivery of key initiatives, data assets and projects working with Consumer Analytics & Delivery Squad teams ensuring they are understood, tasked and delivered within time and resource.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Clarifying & documenting business data definitions and business requirements
* Extracting actionable insights which internal customers can understand and use
* Giving tactical recommendations to help internal customers meet their goals
* Quantifying value delivered to internal customers
* Creation of star schema data models
* Training colleagues in the best-practice use of the data assets created
* Contribute to the squad’s daily stand ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews and sprint retrospectives
* Support the Consumer Analytics team and wider UKI Consumer stakeholders with outputs as appropriate to support the squad’s agreed deliverables. This will include requirements documentation, data definitions, sizing and value assessment.
* Question and challenge existing business data definitions and processes based on insights from findings
* Communicate results of your work to internal customers in sprint reviews, drawing out the ‘so what?’
* Champion data best practices, provide regular honest feedback and identify opportunities to improve Bupa’s data analytics operating model
* Take a proactive approach to your own continuous professional development.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
Essential
* Experience in building star schema data models
* Knowledge of Snowflake
* Understanding of Cloud technologies, development approaches, tools and techniques
* Experience with managing the development and delivery of a data product for an internal customer
* Experience with data languages e.g., SQL, DAX
* Experience of relational database structures, principles, and practices.
* Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and insightful messages
* Excellent team player who can establish effective working relationships at all levels within the business
* Proactive, self-learner, organised, and able to prioritise work in an agile, fast-moving environment
* Ability to embrace change and be positive in approach to challenges by adjusting work priorities and influencing others to do the same
* Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop clear insights for the business
Highly Desirable
* Experience of project management methods e.g. agile, waterfall, Scrum etc
* Experience of working in an agile squad
* Commercial experience in a related sector (e.g. insurance, healthcare) or function (e.g. marketing)
* Experience with data visualisations tools, e.g., Power BI, etc.
* Experience in establishing and monitoring KPIs to measure value delivered
