Plant Engineer Job Overview
* Diagnose and repair faults on heavy plant machinery, covering both mechanical and electrical issues.
* This position is a mix of being in the workshop and attending customer sites.
* Perform regular servicing and maintenance checks.
* Conduct inspections and testing to ensure equipment is safe and operational.
* Identify and source spare parts as needed.
* Wire control panels and interpret electrical diagrams.
* Maintain, service, and repair hydraulic systems and diesel engines.
* Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Plant Engineer Job Requirements
* Proven experience working as a Plant Fitter.
* Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with 12/24V and 3-phase electrical systems.
* Familiarity with heavy plant machinery and its key components.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers.
* Capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
* Keen attention to detail with a proactive and dedicated work ethic.
* Confident using IT equipment for diagnostics and reporting.
Plant Engineer Salary & Benefits
* £40,000-£50,000 salary dependent on experience.
* Monday-Friday - 7:30-4:30 (1 hour lunch break).
* 28 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays.
