Role Overview:
It is an exciting time to join Oldham Council’s (rated Good by Ofsted) Targeted Early Help service and be a part of the transformational Families First reforms. You will be an outstanding Team Manager with strong knowledge of good practice in work with children and families, skilled and experienced in developing and delivering multi-agency early help practice, with proven skills of leading a team of workers to deliver quality targeted early help to children and families.
Key Responsibilities:
* To provide leadership to the team, modelling the service and corporate values and the Early Help/ Children’s Social Care approach to practice, ensuring a clear focus on the delivery of positive outcomes for children and families.
* To lead on Targeted Early Help performance in the district, ensuring quality of casework and that we are meeting the service’s Practice Standards, providing support and challenge to partners in order to develop Early Help practice and achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
* To implement and further develop the multi-agency model for delivering family help in the district, and to co-ordinate the team’s support for the operation of this.
* To contribute to development of the service plan, and oversee delivery of the team’s contribution, including regular monitoring of progress and ensuring action to address performance issues.
* To be a member of the multi-agency district leadership team which develops and implements the district plan for meeting the needs of children, young people and families.
Key Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum:
* Substantial experience of successfully leading, motivating and managing teams, including the establishment of a positive performance culture.
* Substantial experience of assessing and analysing the needs of children and families and implementing programmes of support to address these.
* Extensive experience of working within a service delivering support to families who have complex lives which may include mental health, offending, substance misuse, domestic abuse and may be resistant to service involvement.
