Service Manager - Motor Trade - Vehicles
Location: Chesterfield
Salary: £45K - £50K basic DOE. OTE 60k
Hours: Full Time Monday to Friday 40 hours, Saturdays as required
We have an exciting opportunity for a Service Manager to join our large dealer group. In this role, you will oversee the service department within the depot, providing support and assistance with the Workshop Controller.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with previous experience in managing people.

Role: Service Manager
* Manage all Service Department procedures with the aid of Workshop Controller.
* Fully support the Workshop Controller in his daily routine and take control of any ongoing issues.
* Provide advice and assistance on technical matters to the Workshop Controller.
* Ensure service reception and workshop control manage planned events including MOT bookings, PMIs, and services including workshop loading.
* Ensure T card's system is live and accurate, with scheduled bookings showing up to two weeks in advance.
* Manage and oversee the daily operation of the service department, including daily checks.
* Ensure that service reception has obtained start-up numbers for all work and job cards are opened accurately.
* Take full control of the WIP on a daily basis to keep it under KPI levels.
* Ensure warranty and R&M procedures are adhered to and correct authority is obtained before any work commences.
* Review all warranty jobs for compliance with manufacturer standards before sending for costing.
* Ensure all outstanding campaigns are added to the job sheet on creation and completion.
* Monitor that all job cards and paperwork are filled in correctly with the required information.
* Deal with customer queries and complaints in a timely manner.
* Provide quality reports on time and consistent with current standards.
* Manage, coach, and motivate employees to meet targets and business objectives.

Requirements: Service Manager
* A background within the Light Vehicle aftersales sector is essential.
* Experience working as a Service or Depot Manager within a Main Dealer is essential.
* Must possess the ability to communicate well with customers and colleagues across different departments.
* Organised and methodical approach to problem-solving with attention to detail.
* The ability to work under pressure.
* Ability to demonstrate knowledge, skills, and achievements in a successful retail and service management position.
* Excellent commercial acumen and superb communication skills.
