As a senior Lead Control & Protection Project Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the team that designs, develops, configures, and verifies HVDC Control & Protection Systems, driving consistent design practices and common global processes for project implementation while providing technical solutions that meet project objectives.
Job Description
Scope
1. Execute the delivery of the project regarding the Control & Protection System Engineering and Verification & Validation.
2. From the capture of the requirements to the handover to the customer, as per budget and within schedule.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Lead the Engineering team that designs, develops, configures, and verifies HVDC Control & Protection Systems, driving consistent design practices and common global processes for project implementation.
2. Define and maintain the scope for the Control & Protection System Delivery Project Plan.
3. Define and maintain the detailed Project schedule derived from P6 plan and manage the agreed Budget.
4. Define and maintain the Control & Protection System Risk Register and escalate high risks to Project Engineering manager.
5. Review planned hours, Cost-To-Completion hours vs Budgeted hours.
6. Adhere to the Control & Protection System Engineering SIPOC and delivery processes.
7. Accountability for the On-Time-Delivery and say-do ratio KPIs for the project.
8. Lead NCP, with an action plan in place and accountability to close them.
9. Raise Change Requests when required following a budget deviation or a change of scope.
10. Report monthly to the Delivery Manager on project progress, including achievements, budget status, risks review, and resource plan.
11. Represent Control & Protection System during customer meetings and with GE partners.
12. Make decisions regarding work processes or operational plans and schedules to achieve department objectives.
13. Manage engineering resources, workload, schedule, and project milestones.
14. Actively share and learn good practices and lessons learned to implement in the project for better execution.
Qualifications / Essential Requirements
1. Engineering degree or equivalent, including power systems and Electrical, Control & Protection system subjects, or proven equivalent knowledge and experience in the HVDC business.
2. Extensive demonstrated experience in Control & Protection systems and complex problem-solving skills.
3. Degree in Project Management or equivalent & in-depth experience working in large teams.
4. Strong sense of urgency and ability to identify and manage team organizational risks.
5. Proven skills in managing and leading teams with strong technical backgrounds.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7. Able to work to deadlines under pressure while maintaining safety, quality, and engineering integrity of the solution.
8. Must be flexible with working hours and willing to travel globally.
