Y2 Class Teacher Maternity Cover-Temporary for one term in the first instance (possibility of extension in September dependent on return of post holder)
Birchfield Primary is a small, friendly and welcoming school. Our motto ‘Where Children Come First’ is lived through all that we do.
We are seeking to appoint a talented, highly organised, nurturing and motivated Y2 Teacher to join our team for the Summer Term (from 17th March if possible).
This is a temporary post for one term in the first instance to cover maternity leave, with the possibility that it may be extended in September, dependent on the return of the postholder.
Our pupils and the team at Birchfield would like to find a teacher who has a passion for teaching and education, is kind and caring and likes to have fun whilst providing learning experiences of the highest quality.

The successful candidate will be the class teacher in Y2.
You will have an excellent knowledge and understanding of the KS1 curriculum, ideally with experience of teaching in KS1 previously.
You will:
* Have QTS
* Be an excellent KS1 practitioner
* Plan, design and produce teaching materials and resources which are appropriate to age and ability.
* Plan, deliver and review lessons appropriate to the age and ability of the pupils.
* Assess, record and report on the development, progress and attainment of the pupils.
* Manage the classroom environment and teaching equipment to create a positive learning environment.
* Have high expectations and show commitment to raising standards.
* Be committed to working collaboratively as part of a team.
* Be friendly, courteous, approachable and professional.
* Be committed to the safeguarding of children.
* Be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
* Have strong organisational and ICT skills.
* Work flexibly as part of a team & show initiative.
* Prioritise work to meet conflicting deadlines.
* Contribute to the wider life of the school.
