Job Opportunity: Hire Manager at Chandlers Ford Branch
Due to internal promotion, we have an exciting opportunity for a Hire Manager to join our team at the Chandlers Ford Branch.
You will work closely with the Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager to coordinate branch hire operations, ensure smooth customer service, and lead the Hire team to meet profit and team targets.
As Hire Manager, your responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing safety and security of branch assets, including people, vehicles, property, pumps, and equipment, ensuring compliance with regulations and prompt incident management.
2. Ensuring adherence to pricing parameters and policies for the business and customers.
3. Setting up new customer accounts following Credit Control procedures and managing accounts on stop.
4. Managing transport efficiency, delivery timelines, and clear communication with customers.
5. Controlling transport costs, damages, and losses, and maintaining updated reports.
6. Using strong communication skills to handle local and general business activities, including toolbox talks.
7. Managing working hours in compliance with drivers’ hours regulations and tachograph requirements.
8. Collaborating with the Branch Manager on financial matters, including month-end routines, debtor queries, and financial reports.
9. Managing customer interfaces, including key accounts, to maximize opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience in a supervisory role within a pump rental or similar environment.
* Experience managing a busy hire desk in a fast-paced setting.
* Experience in logistics, construction, or water utilities is advantageous.
* Proficiency with various software packages and rental systems.
* Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
* Strong planning and organizational skills, with flexibility to re-prioritize tasks.
* Ability to multi-task and resolve issues promptly.
* Professional and positive communication skills, even under pressure.
* Negotiation and influencing skills, with confidence in promoting company products.
* Knowledge of pumps and solutions is a plus but not essential.
* Valid UK driving license with less than 6 points.
