Job Description To support the Operation across the EDF/HPC Wincanton Contract, we are looking for an experienced H&S Officer to join our already established team that is Helping Britain Achieve Net Zero. The role will be based on the Bridgwater site but with travel to other local locations. The role is required to support the Operations team. This is a key role that will be a major part in the day to day running & successful delivery of the contract. The day to day duties of the role will be supporting the operations team, encouraging safe practise, creating, updating and improving risk assessments, progressive approach to health and safety, encouraging a safe culture across the site at all levels. Leading meetings and huddles to discuss safe working practise and motivate and secure zero harm across the site. This is a key role that will be a major part in the day to day running & successful delivery of the contract. Benefits Monday-Friday 8am-4pm Cycle to Work Scheme, Discount App available, Health Care Scheme Salary: £28-35,000 (DOE Pro rota) 37.5 hours per a week 25 days holiday bank holidays Duties And Responsibilities Support and lead the creation and maintenance of Management Plans, Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) Deliver training and record colleague sign off the training – escalate any training gaps. Input, analyse and report all Health, Safety and Environment information to Wincanton and Client systems. Chair, present and update minutes from HSE meetings pursuing closure on actions and escalating where necessary. Manage contractors prior to accessing site, during and on exiting the premises – this would include paperwork, Permit to Works, Defects, equipment suitability and conformity, follow up requirements, inductions, pass control. Be point of contact for all HSE escalations across eDF/Wincanton sites. Liaise and downline HSE business critical updates to all colleagues. Experience, Skills And Attributes Stakeholder engagement Experience of working with third party service providers to resolve issues. Computer literate; Microsoft package Desirable experience: Incident reporting systems Experience of working in a logistics role ESSENTIAL: NEBOSH CITB Managers and Professionals - conditional offer until completed Site Specific Information CITB Operatives H&S (Must be completed before start date) You must be able to provide a 3-year work/ unemployment/ education history and required vetting process in line with HPC protocols. You must be able to obtain the HPC pass.
