Main duties of the job
The role of the Specialty doctor is to support the delivery of services in the T&O department. The duty of the post is to provide in-patient and out-patient support to Trauma and Orthopaedics specialty services. The speciality doctor is expected to lead the junior doctors in and support the consultant in providing care to inpatients and outpatients.

Job responsibilities
The job involves active participation in elective theatre sessions, outpatient clinics and trauma lists. The successful candidate will be expected to take part in regular departmental audit and weekly teaching sessions.
Person Specification
Experience and Knowledge
* Two years' experience in trauma Surgery
* Full GMC Registration
* MBBS OR Equivalent
* Evidence of Good Practical skills
Qualification and Professional Training
* Shall have obtained relevant experience and competencies
* 1 year (or equivalent) at SHO level
* Evidence of participation in audit
* Willingness to be involved in audit/ research
* Courses/ALS/ATLS
* Publications/Audits
Skills and Abilities
* Evidence of appropriate surgical experience in trauma and Orthopaedics
* Able to make sound clinical judgements
* Ability to work both autonomously and in a team
* Ability to organise and prioritize workload effectively
* Ability to exercise sound judgement when faced with conflicting pressures
Other
* IELTS Score 7.5 or above Evidence of demonstrable skills in written and spoken English.
* Commitment to and understanding of audit.
* Appropriate publications in medical literature
* Appropriate presentations to learned societies
* Evidence of participation in the audit cycle
