Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide support for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across a range of subjects and activities, ensuring they receive the assistance they need to succeed in the classroom. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher, Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo), and other staff to support students on an individual or small group basis. Your role will involve providing tailored support, adapting learning materials, and ensuring students have access to a safe and inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEND. Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and personalised learning strategies. Foster an inclusive and positive learning environment that encourages students to engage and participate fully in lessons. Support students with communication, social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Help students with personal care and mobility, if required. Liaise with teachers, SENCo, and parents to monitor progress and ensure the best outcomes for students. Assist with the preparation and adaptation of learning resources and materials. Contribute to the development of strategies to enhance student learning and well-being. Essential Qualifications & Experience: Experience working with children with SEND, ideally in a school setting. A passion for supporting children with a variety of additional needs. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families. Patience, empathy, and resilience. A relevant qualification (e.g., Teaching Assistant Level 2/3, or equivalent) is desirable.
