Milestone Infrastructure is currently looking to hire a Communications & Engagement Manager to work on our Oxfordshire Highways contract. This is an exciting opportunity to help promote and raise awareness of the great work Milestone delivers in partnership with Oxfordshire County Council.
Your role will involve working closely with key contract stakeholders including the client, local Councillors, members of the public, local businesses and charities. You will ensure we deliver our key contract aim of ensuring high quality highways services are delivered for the benefit of the residents, businesses, and highways users in Oxfordshire.
Your key responsibilities within this role will include:
1. Developing an engagement and communications plan for the Oxfordshire contract, to ensure effective and timely engagement and communications across all our portfolio of service delivery activities, through multiple media channels.
2. Promoting and raising awareness of the great work delivered by the Highways Partnership, working alongside OCC engagement and communications colleagues.
3. Leading on all internal and external Oxfordshire contract engagement and communications, working alongside colleagues across Milestone.
4. Working with our delivery teams to develop individual scheme, cyclical and maintenance communication plans that ensure affected stakeholders are kept informed of upcoming network activities and potential disruption from the Annual Plan.
5. Receiving, recording, and responding to feedback from members of the public and other stakeholders relating to our network activities.
6. Co-ordinating operational staff capturing site images for promotion, engagement and communications purposes.
7. Leading on the collation of industry award submissions.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
1. Experience of working successfully within a public facing environment.
2. A proven ability to deliver against agreed action plans and improvement programmes.
3. Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and report writing and presentation – to ensure clarity in all situations and to effectively influence decision making.
4. Exceptional organisational skills - Forward thinking – capable of thinking ahead and planning for the future.
5. An understanding of the contemporary issues within highway maintenance would be desirable.
6. Comfortable with dealing directly with local Councillors, media and members of the public.
7. Excellent people and client communication skills with experience of dealing with the media.
8. Strong relationship building skills.
9. A high level of emotional and social intelligence.
10. Computer literacy with media channels, O365 packages and PowerBi.
11. Able to work to tight deadlines under pressure.
12. Manage and prioritise own workload.
