The Vacancy
Our Third Party Administration (TPA) department is a dynamic administration team with a varied portfolio of clients. They play a key part in providing our clients and members with a market-leading service on Defined Benefits (DB), Defined Contribution (DC), and CARE pension arrangements.
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join this department as a Team Leader, within our Data Journey team in Birmingham, Edinburgh, or Glasgow.
What will your role look like?
You will provide high-quality leadership to a team focused on delivering Data Journey projects such as de-risking activities, data analysis, benefit rectification, GMPe calculations, and associated data cleanse activity. You will be responsible for effective work planning and delivery by the team, making decisions on next steps for client projects, and recommending fees and timescales.
Key tasks include:
* Allocating work to team members by managing capacity daily, ensuring delivery according to process and standards.
* Preparing and presenting project updates to clients & trustees as needed.
* Preparing fee and timescale estimates for work.
* Being the main contact for Client Managers, Administration Managers, and Project Leads regarding team activity.
* Improving service quality by identifying areas for enhancement, including automation.
* Following the standard complaint procedure, reporting complaints and errors early.
* Escalating complex queries and errors to relevant support teams.
* Ensuring work complies with guidelines, procedures, quality, and service standards.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
* Experience in pension administration, specifically with DB, DC, and CARE arrangements.
* Strong awareness of the UK Pensions Market, legislation, technical developments, and industry best practices.
* Experience in delivering data projects is preferred.
* Client-focused experience in pension administration.
* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and pension administration systems like UPM.
* Good understanding of Data Protection laws, HMRC, the Pensions Regulator, and recent legislative changes.
* Exceptional communication skills, clear and concise in interactions.
* Leadership experience with a collaborative approach.
Ideally, candidates will hold or be working towards a professional qualification such as the Associate Membership of the Pension Management Institute. Relevant industry experience is also valued.
